A GPS tracking software is a computer software that uses the Global Positioning System to positioning an object (a person, etc.) on a plan or map using geographic coordinates.
This is done using a terminal that can be located (with a satellite positioning system (GPS receiver and an example) or other techniques) and publishing (real time or so deferred) geographic coordinates (latitude / longitude). The recorded positions can be stored within the terminal and be retrieved later, or be transmitted in real time to a location-based software platform.
The real-time transmission needs a terminal equipped with a means of telecommunication type GSM / GPRS, radio or satellite enabling it to send the positions at regular intervals. This allows to visualize the position of the terminal in a card through a platform geolocation usually accessible from the Internet.
