A mobile phone (cellular phone, GSM phone) is a portable telephone that communicates by radio with the telephone network and therefore can be used anywhere.
In 2010, a part of mobile phones sold has many additional features made possible by integrating an operating system evolved into the phone: it's the smartphone.
The mobile phone is the result of different technologies that already exist, mostly in the 1940s. Its invention is attributed to Dr. Martin Cooper, director of research and development at Motorola. The first mobile phone was launched in 1983 by Motorola, the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X4.
